Diamond Cameo Watch from Harry Winston
The setting is almost invisible, so the diamonds may fully express their beauty and brilliance. By overlapping diamonds and geometric grace the watch's designers created its three-dimensional form. They were inspired for the Duchesse by the cameo ornament that is often used in scarf securing. The triangular pear-shaped case reminds a brooch with the nine parallel strands of the bracelet. Four of the strands are set with baguette-cut diamonds and five of them with round-cut diamonds. The bracelet's strands may be compared to the scarf beneath a cameo, nicely accentuating the wrist's contours.Harry Winston has further refined its skills in creating haute jewelry watches by developing three new timepieces highlighting the brand's favorite stone - the diamond. The designers crafted each jewelry watch in the ornament style - a cameo, a hair ribbon and a necklace clasp for a lady to choose the one that best suits her mood and attire. Each piece reveals a different cut - a pear, emerald and oval shapes. The first of the trio reflects the Harry Winston credo - "only the exceptional". The Duchesse seems to become the incarnation of Harry Winston's dream to "attach the diamonds directly onto female skin".
Piaget Creations Sparkle at Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's Wedding
The case of the timepiece measuring 43mm in diameter is crafted in 18K white gold. The boldly designed watch features slate gray 18K gold and titanium bezel that surrounds the matching slate gray dial. Tony Parker's winning number '9' composed of 50 diamonds is the peculiarity paying tribute to the brilliant basketball player. The Piaget Company, founded in 1874, has evaluated the fine jewelry and watches' manufacture to a refined art form. Piaget is known for setting more diamonds than any other Swiss brand and is one of the few watchmakers involved into designing and crafting its own cases, bracelets and movements. On July 7, Saturday in the solemn atmosphere of Saint Germain L'Auxerrois Church in Paris there took place a fairytale-like wedding of the celebrity couple, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. The Desperate Housewives' star and the super-famous basketball player took vows and exchanged wedding rings, having chosen Piaget Possession wedding bands to serve as the ultimate symbol of their love. The Piaget Possession rings feature two inseparably linked bands. Eva Longoria's Possession band is produced from 18K white gold. Tony Parker's Possession band is also created in 18K white gold, and impresses by its elegant simplicity. The celebrity couple wanted to have their Piaget Possession wedding bands engraved inside with a special inscription in French.Eva Longoria has long been in love with Piaget creations. The actress commissioned the company to produce a timepiece to be presented as her wedding gift for her husband. As a result, there appeared a new Piaget watch that is sure to enter the list of most longed-for timepieces among professional athletes. The Piaget 'Number 9' has been developed as a specially customized version of the iconic Piaget Polo watch.
New Criteria for "Swiss Made" Label
The industry will make new investments just as some companies that have already done it. The FH is ready to present its proposals to the federal authorities. It will be followed by negotiations with the European Union. At present time representatives of the watch*** industry interested in the issue hope that Swiss Made will finally reflect quality worthy of the Swiss name.Prior to the assembly, the International Watch Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds held a special meeting devoted to the issue. One of the specialists present at the meeting mentioned that it is difficult for customers to tell the difference between Swiss, Made in Switzerland, Swiss Made, and Swiss manufacturers as there was a drift in the terms' usage. For customers, 'Swiss Made' generally implies water-resistance, service and repair provided for a certain period of time. The majority of customers do not know how precisely to determine how much of their timepiece's value is of the Swiss origin. Another participant of the meeting stressed that there should not be any doubts whether the Swiss production is able to meet the higher demands after reinforcing of Swiss-Made criteria.
New Criteria for "Swiss Made" Label
The watch's technical construction and prototype development must be fulfilled in Switzerland. Production cost does not include raw materials, gems and batteries. under the old ordinance, 50 percent of the movement's value must be relevant to Swiss-made parts. For the mechanical movements, the FH proposed to increase this proportion to a minimum of 80 percent, and to 60 percent for electronic movements. The provisions voted by the assembly are relevant to both the timekeeping mechanism and the finished watch. The new project has suggested a value criterion for finished watches. So, what are the basic rules for the Swiss-Made mechanical watches to be worth featuring the 'Swiss made' label, according to the new ordinance? Consider the following: the Swiss-Made mechanical watch must have at least 80 percent of its production cost relevant to operations conducted in Switzerland. For electronic watches, the rate makes up 60 percent.

The Swiss Army Night Vision "Flashlight" Watch
I wrote about the MTM Special Ops Replica Ulysse Nardin some time ago which has LEDs so bright that you are warned not to look directly into them (they are meant to be used for reading maps at night). I also often use the two LEDs in the dial of my Casio G-Shock GW-1310 (my all time favorite G-Shock) to navigate my bedroom late at night after getting up with one of my kids. In fact, I've been known to trip over laundry baskets on nights when I've been wearing digital watches with electroluminescent backlights, or mechanical ulysse nardin replica with nothing but a little luminescent paint. Of course, LEDs bright enough to light your path through your bedroom in the dark are a little overkill for illuminating your watch dial, so squinting into them while half asleep can be a rude awakening if you are not prepared. Consider yourself warned.I haven't been a fan of Swiss Army watches since I paid $100 for an original Swiss Army watch back in high school, wore it on the construction site where I was working, and had it quit on me after filling up with sawdust after only a week. It's been a long time since I earned beer money as a laborer, however, and John over at The Wrist Watch Review has recently posted twice about Swiss Army buy Ulysse Nardin being good values, so I've decided to give them another look. They have some interesting chronographs and divers which I'm now intrigued by, but what really caught my eye was the Night Vision line. The Swiss Army Night Vision watches are ***, inexpensive, decent looking quartz pieces with date windows and built-in LED flashlights above the 12 o'clock position. The flashlight is powered by a second battery, and activated by a button on the left side of the case, between the 8 and 9 o'clock positions. There is also an LED dial light to illuminate the dial in the dark, and just in case the flashlight's battery is dead, luminous hands, as well.Flashlights built into watches are surprisingly useful.
Seiko GMT Spring Drive Watches in the US
I don't have a Seiko Spring Drive yet, but I hope to get my hands on one fairly soon. The biggest reason for my procrastination is that, as usual, Seiko is saving all their most interesting Spring Drive models for Japan (like the Marinemaster GMT Spring Drive). I took a look at the Seiko US Spring Drive site the other day, however, and discovered a few new models since the last time I checked including the white dial SNR007 and the black dial SNR009. They look more or less like their predecessors, the SNR001 and SNR005, with the exception of a 24-hour hand.Features of the Seiko GMT Spring Drive ulysse nardin and ulysse nardin watches include: Spring Drive technology. GMT, or 24-hour hand, to keep time in a second time zone. 72-hour power reserve. Stainless steel case and bracelet. Sapphire crystal (with anti-reflective coating). See-through sapphire caseback. Water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters, or about 330 feet). The US Spring Drive collection is getting more interesting, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet. If Seiko introduces a Spring Drive diver in the US, though, I'll be the first in line. Maybe we'll see some interesting announcements at Baselworld 2007.
Watches for Swimming
Speaking of Casios, the G-Shock GW-400J is a reasonable choice for the water. The vibrating alarm was designed for water sports like swimming, surfing, and water skiing where it's difficult or impossible to hear the typical faint beeps of most alarms. It also sports some interesting water-related features like a tide graph and a thermometer that measures both air and water temperatures. But if your focus is strictly lap swimming, another solution is a finger-mounted timer like the SportCount. The smaller display is harder to read, but the button is easier to press since it's located right next to your thumb. Like the Zoggs Lap Pro, the SportCount provides fastest, slowest, and average stats, plus a lap counter and total time elapsed. The only problem is that we're watch fanatics, and as such, we'd prefer a wrist-mounted solution like the Zoggs any day of the week.By Paul Hubbard and Christian Cantrell. If you swim for fitness, finding a watch to keep track of lap times is difficult. Most general-fitness Replica Ulysse Nardin are cumbersome to use underwater, and often have displays that are hard to read. But there are a couple of innovative products out there that attempt to solve this problem. The Zoggs Lap Pro is a fairly standard looking digital watch with a large LCD display and a face that acts as one large button which you press to register a lap. Simple, easy to use, and, at $50 online, reasonably priced. The drawback is that you still have to touch your wrist with your off hand at the end of a lap, which you don't normally do while swimming, but it's better than trying to press a tiny button.Speedo has a nice rolex watches called the Fastskin with a large digital readout which is slightly tilted to make it easier to read at a glance. However, other than the display, the fact that it has a stopwatch, is water resistant to 50 feet, and bears the Speedo brand, I'm not sure how this qualifies as a swimming web gifts for jewelry. And then there are the Casio Baby-G Dolphin and Whale models with a couple of interesting features like a dive log and the time at 10 popular dive sites around the world. As it turns out, though, it appears that the Baby-G Dolphin and Whale line is more about saving marine animals than swimming with them since part of the proceeds from each sale goes to environmental protection initiatives. Still, not bad looking Baby-Gs.
Timex TX Watches
Historic American watchmaker Timex has been doing some interesting things lately. In addition to their broad line of quartz watches, they've reintroduced a line of inexpensive mechanical jewelry based on Chinese movements, and more recently added upscale lines under the TX brand. These are analog quartz watches, with retrograde displays (where the hands move back and forth in an arc) and lots of hands. Timex designed these in Germany over a five-year period, with six-sigma manufacturing. The watches have a lot of the details that you get with nicer web watches gift, such as sapphire crystals, four motors, legible faces, deployant buckles, enameled crowns, and nicely finished cases. There are three series of TX watches right now: the 300 perpetualcalendar (which doesn't require adjustments on months with less than31 days), the 500-series with a second time zone display, and 700-serieswith a stop watches gift online, second time zone, and an electronic compass. The pictureis from the 730 model. It's difficult to find prices for TX watches online, but they appear to be inthe $500 range, which is quite good for what they offer. It's good tosee the classic American brand stage a comeback, and I hopethese new models succeed.
The New Timex T Series
The T Series represents classic Timex: good values, reasonable styling, and a few nice features.By Paul HubbardChristian says: The other day, my sister-in-law was asking me for advice on a ***, affordable (she's in college), nice looking metal replica watches for her boyfriend who doesn't wear a watch at all. The T Series seems to fit the bill perfectly.Timex has just introducedthe new T Series,a collection of simply-styled analog quartz my web replica watches incorporatingIndiglo, long battery life (7 years), stainless steel cases, and goodwater resistance (100 meters, or 330 feet).Several have perpetual calendars, which automatically correct for shorter months, and others have chronographs (stopwatches) for event timing.
